The VW Corrado was rebuilt from a very successful SCCA Showroom Stock A (SSA) car.
The cage was done originally by our favorite cage builder over at McMahon Autosport. Once we began the conversion, Mark also made a few modifications for us beyond those of the original SS cage.
It was transformed to run in SCCA’s Improved Touring S class, (ITS) around 2005. Major changes included removing the OE suspension and replacing with a KW Competition 2-way racing suspension with spring rates high enough to effectively control the forward weight bias of the VR6. The engine was also fully freshened with new internals, larger pistons, full balancing and lightening where allowed, and a complete remap of the ECU.
